This series of work explores the intersection of architectural form and emotional resonance through a minimalist aesthetic. Working primarily in a restricted palette of neutral tones, I deconstruct classical architectural elements into abstract compositions that hover between representation and pure form.
The paintings investigate the dialogue between structure and dissolution. I employ a technique of layered paint application, where each layer partially obscures or reveals what lies beneath, creating a sense of depth and history within the surface itself.
This series particularly examines the relationship between light and shadow, using stark contrasts to create dramatic spatial effects. The recurring motif of the arch serves not just as an architectural reference, but as a metaphor for transition and passage - between spaces, states of being, or levels of consciousness.
My process involves both careful geometric construction and intuitive gestural work. The paintings begin with precise structural elements that gradually break down into more expressive, atmospheric passages. This tension between control and release, structure and fluidity, reflects my interest in how we navigate between our perceived reality and our inner emotional landscapes.
Through these works, I invite viewers to explore spaces that exist somewhere between memory and imagination, structure and abstraction, the physical and the metaphysical.
